Dr. R. Chndrababu, Vice Chancellor, Kerala Agricultural University, Thrissur, is inaugurating the winter school
The inaugural function of the ICAR sponsored winter school on “Marine nutrients for fighting malnutrition: Recent advances in marine biomolecules for human nutrition and healthcare” was held at ICAR-CIFT on 1st February, 2018. The function was inaugurated by Dr. R. Chandrababu, the Hon’ble Vice chancellor of Kerala Agriculture University, Thrissur. In his inaugral address, he highlighted the need for optimal utilization of the seafood, seaweeds and other marine rources of indian waters for addressing the food and nutritional security. He also pointed out the possibility of fortification of seafood with functional biomolecules to improve the wellbeing of Indian population. He stressed upon the huge potential of marine organisms in developing marine drugs in the field of biomedical research.
