Mumbai Research Center of ICAR-CIFT has signed an MoU with Department of Fisheries (DoF) for the Project on Assessment of Marine Debris and Possible Circular Economy Initiatives using Retrieved Gear in the presence of the Hon'ble Shri. Sudhir Mungantivar, Minister for Fisheries, Forests and Cultural Affairs, Maharashtra on 6th February, 2024. Rs. 33.99 Lakhs has been sanctioned for the Project.

Mumbai Research Center of ICAR-CIFT as the lead Party has signed tripartite MoU with Automobile Research Association of India (ARAI) and Department of Fisheries (DoF) for the Project on Alternate Fuel and Energy Systems in the presence of the Hon'ble Shri. An agreement was signed between ICAR-CIFT and Puakai Agriaqua, Rajahmundry on 28^th April 2023 for the development of nutraceuticals and functional food formulations from seaweed.

Technology Transfer

A technology transfer agreement was signed between ICAR-CIFT and Universal Green Foods Pvt. Ltd., Kanjirapally on 17^th May 2023 for the production of masala dry shrimp roast, chutney powder and fish feed.

Agreement with ICAR-NAARM

On the 26th of May 2023, a pivotal agreement was formalized between ICAR-CIFT, Kochi, and ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad, to strengthen agripreneurship. Facilitated by a-IDEA of NAARM, this landmark alliance is expected to provide comprehensive business support services and funding  to startups.

Machine transfer

Under the Swachhta Action Plan, an agreement was signed on 21st June 2023, between ICAR-CIFT, Kochi, and the Peruvannamuzhy SC/ST Fishermen Co-operative Society Ltd., Kozhikode, for the transfer of an extruder machine. This initiative aims to benefit fishermen by enabling the production of fish feed from fish waste.

An agreement was signed between ICAR-CIFT, Kochi and Parayil Farms Pvt. Ltd., Ernakulam on 1^st August 2023 for the technology transfer of vegan mayonnaise using microencapsulated sesame oil and chickpea protein isolate and hydrolysate.

On September 12, 2023, an agreement was signed between ICAR-CIFT, Kochi, and Kitchen Mate, Ernakulam, to facilitate the transfer of technical know-how for handling practices related to cooked prawns, as well as the optimization of packaging and storage processes

On September 14, 2023, ICAR-CIFT, Kochi, and Kerala Water Authority, Ernakulam, signed a consultancy agreement to provide guidance for obtaining NABL accreditation for the microbiological laboratory at AQUASRI.

Technology Transfer

An agreement was signed between ICAR-CIFT, Mr. Sudheesh A., Malappuram and Kraftwork Solar Pvt. Ltd., Cochin on 14^th September 2023 for the technical know-how of dry fish processing. The client will acquire a 250 kg solar dryer, designed by ICAR-CIFT, through the ICAR-CIFT empanelled agency for the establishment of his business.

An agreement was signed between ICAR-CIFT, Kochi and M/s Rumpot snacks, Kollam on 25^th September 2023 for the technology of dried and semi-dried products from fish.

An agreement was signed between ICAR-CIFT, Kochi and Plan@Earth (NGO), Aluva on 5^th October 2023 for the management of marine plastic litter along the coast of Kerala.

An agreement was signed between ICAR-CIFT, Kochi and KSCADC, Thiruvananthapuram on 13^th October 2023 for the preparation of DPR for establishing a production and processing unit for ready-to-eat fish products in retortable pouches at Karikode fish market facility, Kollam.
