6. | ICAR-CIFT Partners with Leading Manufacturers for Commercialization of Food Processing Equipment | |
The IICAR-CIFT, Kochi, has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) today with Kraftwork Solar Private Limited, Kochi; Agro Threestar Machineries Pvt Ltd., Alappuzha; Dellmarc, Thrissur; and Capt Steel Equipment & Furniture, Perumbavoor, Ernakulam. These companies specialize in manufacturing dryers, fish vending kiosks, solar tunnel dryers, fish smoking kilns, solar dryers, and other innovative equipment. ICAR-CIFT has developed several cost-effective and energy-efficient food processing technologies aimed at advancing the fisheries and allied sectors. To ensure these technologies are accessible to stakeholders at reasonable price and to promote large-scale commercialization, the Institute has empanelled these firms to manufacture equipments. Dr. George Ninan, Director of ICAR-CIFT, signed and exchanged the agreements with representatives of the partnering companies. This collaboration is expected to improve the availability of advanced food processing equipment while ensuring affordability and quality. |

The ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (ICAR-CIFT), Kochi has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Siri Aquatic Feeds Pvt. Ltd., Andhra Pradesh on 18th December 2024, for the technology transfer of Enzymatically Derived Shrimp Protein Hydrolysate from Shrimp-Shell Waste. This milestone agreement aligns with ICAR-CIFT’s ongoing commitment to sustainable waste management and technological innovation in the fisheries sector. The enzymatic process developed by ICAR-CIFT transforms shrimp-shell waste into a high-value protein hydrolysate, which not only contributes to eco-friendly practices but also adds value to the seafood industry by turning waste into a usable product. The ICAR-CIFT scientific team, comprising of Dr. Elavarasan K., Dr. Jeyakumari A., Dr. Satish Kumar K., and Shri. Sreejith S. will be in charge of this technology transfer project. |
