ICAR-CIFT Library plays a vital role in providing services to support the information needs of the research community of the Institute. Library has a collection of 12901 books and 6193 bound journals. In addition, library subscribes to ASFA (Aquatic Science and Fisheries Abstracts),  Indian Standards on DVD and Patent Database. More than 2000 online journals are available through CeRA (Consortium of e-Resources on Agriculture). India Agristat  and Elsevier E-books (1174 Nos.) are also available through CeRA. MyLOFT mobile/web app has been introduced to facilitate remote access to library subscribed premium e-resources.The library is using KOHA Library Management Software.

The online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) enables users to search the library collection. Digital content of ICAR-CIFT is available through Krishikosh, an Institutional repository of NARS (Indian National Agricultural Research System). Library offers Plagiarism Checking Service using ‘iThenticate’ to its members. The library has institutional membership of IAMSLIC (The International Association of Aquatic and Marine Science Libraries and Information Centers) and DELNET-Developing Library Network. The library continued to act as a National Input Centre of ASFA (Aquatic science and Fisheries Abstracts) database. ICAR-CIFT is designated as a content partner of National Digital Library of India for its generous contribution of contents.
