ICAR-Central Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (ICAR CIFT) hosted World Antimicrobial Awareness Week 2023 (WAAW 2023) with the theme “Preventing Antimicrobial Resistance Together” on 21.11.2023 at ICAR CIFT, Kochi. WAAW is celebrated from 18-24 November every year. Dr. Anil Kumar, Head Department of Microbiology, School of Medicine, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapetham, Kochi gave a special talk on “Antimicrobial Resistance: an Indian Scenario”. More than 100 stakeholders participated in the program., ICAR CIFT conducted special awareness campaigns for the school students of Kendriya Vidhyala-1, Naval Base, Cochin and Seventh Day Adventist School, Kaloor, Ernakulam on 22.11.2023 to sensitize about the impact of AMR. A “Nukkad Natak” in Hindi language was enacted by scientist and technical staffs. Overall 150 students benefitted from the program.
