ICAR-CIFT conducted brainstorming training program on Advanced Microbiological and molecular Techniques

ICAR Central Institute of Fisheries Technology, Cochin, conducted a brainstorming training program on "Advanced Microbiological and molecular Techniques for improving the competence of students in biological sciences” under Tribal Sub-Plan (TSP). The TSP training was conducted during 20 - 24 February 2024, with a focus on empowering tribal communities with knowledge and skills in microbiology. The program aimed to bridge the gap in scientific knowledge and provide a platform for tribal students to enhance their understanding of microbiological and molecular techniques. Fifteen Scheduled Tribe students and one staff representing, Government College of Arts and Science, Lakshadweep attended the training program.

 

The curriculum covered a range of topics including microbial identification techniques, laboratory safety and hygiene, culturing and isolating microorganisms and molecular biology techniques. Each module combined theoretical sessions with practical demonstrations to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter. The Advanced Microbiological Techniques training program has not only provided valuable insights into the world of microbiology but has also empowered tribal individuals with practical skills that can be applied in various fields. The valedictory program on February 24, 2024, marked the conclusion of the training.
