Celebration of 67th Foundation Day of ICAR-CIFT @Mumbai R C

 

 

Mumbai Research Centre, ICAR-CIFT celebrated the 67th Foundation Day of ICAR-CIFT on 29th April 2024 under directives and guidance of Dr. K. K. Asha, Principal scientist and SIC, MRC, ICAR-CIFT, Vashi, Navi Mumbai. 

The programme was anchored by Ms. Pallavi Salgaonkar, YP-I and was started with the ICAR song. Dr. Abhay Kumar, Scientist, MRC, ICAR-CIFT delivered the welcome address followed by lightning of lamp by the dignitaries and presidential address by Dr. K. K. Asha, Principal scientist and SIC, MRC, ICAR-CIFT where she highlighted the history, milestones and achievements of ICAR-CIFT and importance of the day.  

After that, the chief guest, Dr. R. Jeyabaskaran, shared some of his fond memories of his time with ICAR-CIFT. He extended his well wishes to all the staff on this special occasion and motivated them to keep striving for CIFT's continued success. Dr. K. K. Asha honoured the chief guest with momento and shawl. The sequence commenced with speeches from esteemed guests, including stakeholders, accomplished entrepreneurs, and retired personnel from MRC and ICAR-CIFT. They imparted their experiences with the institute and extended heartfelt wishes for CIFT's enduring success. One successful dry fish entrepreneur, Mr. Akshay Arun Mahadik, from Kankavli, Sindhudurg displayed samples of his solar dried fish products to the dignitaries and participants and shared how CIFT training contributed to his success.  Immediately after his speech the guests were honoured.

This was followed by prize distribution by the dignitaries of winners of indoor games competitions held in MRC, ICAR-CIFT viz. carrom, chess and ludo.

The afternoon session kicked off with a cultural program after the lunch break. Staff members displayed their diverse backgrounds and talents by performing various cultural acts like, koli dance, lavni, skit, mime, solo and duet songs, group dance and antaakshari etc.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Shravan Kumar Sharma, Scientist at MRC, ICAR-CIFT. Following the national anthem, staff and dignitaries gathered for a commemorative group photograph.
