Dr. GerogeNinan, Senior Scientist, Fish Processing, CIFT, Cochin received the ‘Jawaharlal Nehru Award’ for outstanding Post Graduate Agricultural Research-2010 of ICAR, New Delhi for his Ph. D. thesis entitled, “Optimization of process parameters for the extraction of gelatin from skin of freshwater fish and evaluation of physical and chemical properties” under the guidance of Dr. Jose Joseph, Principal Scientist (Retd.), Fish Processing, CIFT, Cochin. The award was received from ShriSharadPawar, Honourable Union Minister for Agriculture, Food and Public Distribution on 16th July, 2011.
