M/s Vinayaka Foods and Beverages, a Ready To Eat (RTE) food processing unit established at Eroor, Cochin was inaugurated by Dr. S. Ayyappan, Secretary, DARE and Director General, ICAR, New Delhi on 12th August, 2015. This auspicious occasion started with an invocation by eminent composer and music producer of devotional songs Shri T.S. Radhakrishnan. Shri. N.R. Parameshwaran of M/s Vinayaka welcomed Dr. Ayyappan and other guests. Shri M. Anantharaman, Managing Partner of M/s Vinayaka thanked Dr. Ayyappan for agreeing to inaugurate the unit. He appreciated the efforts taken by ICAR-CIFT in producing 100% natural, preservative- free and shelf stable food items, especially Palada Pradhaman, a sweet dish which is a delicacy of Kerala. He stressed up on the continued collaboration with ICAR-CIFT in future as well. In his inaugural address, Dr Ayyappan lauded the efforts taken by ICAR-CIFT for establishing the factory and wished Vinayaka family all the success in their new venture and sweet experience in future. Dr. K. Gopakumar, Former DDG (Fisheries) & Former Director, ICAR-CIFT and Dr. M.K. Mukundan, Former, Head, QAM Division, ICAR-CIFT narrated the importance of ready to eat foods in the present era in their felicitation address. Shri R. Venugopal, Chairman, Tripunithura Municipality, Shri C.N. Sundaran, Leader of Opposition, Tripunithura Municipality and Adv. Thomas, Ernakulam District President of BJP wished Vinayaka group a huge success in their felicitation address.
Dr. C.N. Ravishankar, Director, ICAR-CIFT thanked M/s Vinayaka family for their belief in ICAR-CIFT and praised their determination in establishing the RTE food manufacturing unit. Earlier, ICAR-CIFT, Cochin had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with M/s Vinayaka Foods and Beverages, for the technology transfer of ready to eat (RTE) products.
A total of thirteen food products like Palada Pradhaman (rice based sweet dish), Pazha Pradhaman (banana based sweet dish), Gothembu Pradhaman (wheat based sweet dish), Parippu Pradhaman (split pigeon pea or toor dal based sweet dish), Pal Payasam (milk based sweet dish), Kurukku Kalan, Pulisheri, Puli inji, Onion Sambar, Sadhya Sambar, Avial, Chappathi Kuruma, Masala curry were perfected by ICAR-CIFT and are ready for the production inVinayaka Foods.
