The ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (CIFT), Cochin celebrated its 67th Foundation Day on April 29, 2024, with fervour at its main campus in Kochi. Dr. Bimal Prasanna Mohanty, Assistant Director General (Inland Fisheries), ICAR, New Delhi, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, Prof.  Bijoy Nandan, Vice Chancellor (i/c), Kannur University was the Guest of Honour.

Dr. George Ninan, Director of ICAR-CIFT, delivered the Presidential address, highlighting the institute's achievements and its commitment to the advancement of fisheries technology. The occasion also saw the honouring of senior retired staff members and stakeholders, acknowledging their invaluable contributions to the institute's growth over the years. Dr. Suseela Mathew, Principal Scientist, ICAR-CIFT welcomed the gathering and Shri P P Anil Kumar, Senior Finance and Accounts Officer, ICAR-CIFT proposed the vote of thanks.

A Science Exhibition competition for students of schools in the city was also organized, and the winners of the competition were felicitated during the Foundation Day program with cash prizes and certificates. The function ended with cultural programme performed by the staff of the institute.
