In-house Training Workshop for Competency Enhancement of Skilled Support Staff at ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Technology
In compliance to the ICAR Training Policy for training all categories of staff, a two days Training Workshop to enhance the capabilities of Skilled Support Staff of ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Technology, Cochin was organized during 21-22 March, 2016. A total of 20 Skilled Support Staff from the Head Quarters was trained on various aspects.
The formal inauguration of the programme was held in the forenoon of 21st March. Dr. Suseela Mathew, HOD, B&N and Director Incharge presided over the function. Dr. Saly N. Thomas, Nodal Officer, HRD Cell welcomed the participants and gave the introductory remarks. Dr. A.R.S. Menon, Member, HRD Cell proposed the Vote of Thanks.
In the morning session, Dr. Mary Matilda, Former Principal, Maharaja’s College and well known man power trainer gave a lecture on “Personality development, motivation, inter-personal skills, time management etc.” The afternoon session started with a lecture on “Service rules awareness” by Shri R. Anil Kumar, Former Senior Administrative Officer, ICAR-CIFT. After the tea break theory and practical on “Basics of computer applications” was conducted by Smt. N.C. Shyla, Senior Technical Assistant, ICAR-CIFT.
On the second day on 22 March in the first session, Shri P.P. Anil Kumar, Asst. Finance & Accounts Officer, ICAR-CIFT took a class on “Personal claims/advances” which was followed by a class on “Office record keeping and maintenance” by Smt. Christina Joseph, Administrative Officer. The final session was on “Enterprise Resource Planning-ERP (Theory and Practical) by Smt. P.K. Shyma, Asst. Chief Technical Officer and Smt. N.C. Shyla.
The Plenary Session of the programme on 22nd march, 2016 was presided over by Dr. C.N. Ravishankar, Director. Dr. Saly N. Thomas presented a brief report on the programme. Felicitations were offered by Shri P.A. Davis, Senior Administrative Officer. Some of the participants gave their feed back on the programme. Participation certificates were given away by the Director. Dr. V. Geethalaksmi, member, HRD Cell welcomed the gathering while Dr. J. Bindu, Member, HRD Cell proposed the vote of thanks.
