Vigilance Awareness Week Celebrations at Veraval Research Centre of ICAR-CIFT

 

The Veraval Regional Centre of ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Technology observed/Celebrated Vigilance Awareness Week during 31 October to 5 November, 2016. The programme started on 31st October with the  Oath taking ceremony where Scientist In-Charge of the centre Dr.G.K. Sivraman administered the Integrity Pledge to the staff. The Centre in collaboration with the Regional Station of ICAR-CMFR organized a series of lectures and discussions on awareness programme for office staffs and stakeholders. During the discussions anticorruption strategies and emphasis on public participation was highlighted. In the one day brain storming on “Public participation in promoting integrity and eradicating corruption” on 5th November, Dr. D. Divu, SIC of ICAR-CMFRI opined that the dream of corruption free society can only be realize if all the stakeholders, common citizens, private sectors, government and non-government organizations share the responsibility for creation of awareness of corruption as well as refrain from indulging in corrupt practices. Talking on the occasion Dr.G.K. Sivraman, SIC, Veraval Centre of ICAR-CIFT underlined that the anti-corruption strategies should not rest with the policy making and creating anti-corruption institutations only but it requires public participation through creation of awareness, active participation and active vigilance by all the walks of the society. During the programme Shri M.M. Damodra, AAO emphasized that the public servant has an additional responsibility to create the corruption free society and we should maintain highest level of integrity, transparency and accountability in public life. The programme ended with vote of thans by Dr. A.K. Jha followed by National Anthem.
