Vigilance Awareness Week (VAW)-2020

 

ICAR-CIFT, Cochin observed the Vigilance Awareness Week (VAW)- 2020 on digital platform by organizing the different events starting from 27 October to 2 November, 2020 focusing on the theme of VAW-2020‘SATARK BHARAT, SAMRIDDH BHARAT’(Vigilant India, Prosperous India)'. On 27 Oct.2020; it was commenced with the integrity pledge on vigilance by all the staff of CIFT HQ in Cochin and its three centres in Mumbai, Veraval and Vizag, which was administered by the Director followed by e-Integrity pledge taken by most of the staff by visiting the CVC website at http://www.cvc.gov.in. On 28 Oct., 2020, a quiz competition was organized for the staff members of ICAR – CIFT including Headquarters and its Centres followed by online poster competition on 29 Oct., 2020 among the staff and staff children on the theme “Satark Bharat, Samriddh Bharat” (Vigilant India, Prosperous India).

 

Besides, in order to develop awareness among the school children a painting competition was conducted on 30 Oct., 2020 in a virtual platform among the school Students with different themes like “Vigilant schooling for a prosperous nation”forCategory 1 (Class I- IV),“Students’ integrity, nation’s pride”forCategory 2 (ClassV-VIII) and “Vigilant youth for building dream India”forCategory 3 (Class IX-XII). The award winners of all the competitions held during the week of VAW celebrations, were announced and felicitated during the concluding day of Vigilance Awareness Week (VAW)-2020 celebration on 2 November, 2020.On that day a special online lecture on ‘Preventive vigilance measures and free governance’ was arrangedover Microsoft Teams platform, which was delivered by Dr. Aneesh V Pillai, Asst. Professor, School of Legal Studies, Cochin University of Science and Technology, CUSAT, Cochin. The lecture was very much lucid and resourceful on the concept of vigilance, governance, types of vigilance, preventive vigilance, and measures of preventive vigilance and free governance which enriched the awareness of staff at CIFT on vigilance matters.The whole programme was convened by Dr. A. K. Mohanty, Principal Scientist & Head (EIS) and the Vigilance Officer, ICAR-CIFT, Cochin.
