Secretary, Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries, GOI visited ICAR-CIFT

Shri Devendra Choudhary, IAS, Secretary, Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries (AHDF), Govt. of India accompanied by Dr. S. Karthikeyan, IAS, Director, Deptt. of Fisheries, Govt. of Kerala visited ICAR-CIFT, Cochin on 22 July, 2017. During his visit to different NABL accredited laboratories, national level referral food laboratory and other facilities available in the institute premises; he was appraised of the institute activities. Appreciating the activities of ICAR-CIFT, Shri Devendra Choudhary, Secretary (AHDF) later in his address urged the scientists of the institute to bridge the gap between science and its users. He advised to work upon the economics of technology before formulating perspective plan for technology dissemination that may lead to sustainable development. During deliberation, Shri Choudhary stressed on the research priorities on fish contamination and responsible fishing for the development of the sector.
