A training cum demonstration programme on “Hygienic handling and packaging of fish and waste management” was conducted during 26-28 October 2022 at ICAR-CIFT under SCSP programme. The programme was attended by 19 members of the Peruvannamuzhy SC/ST Fishermen Co-operative Society.
The three days programme has covered theory and practical sessions on Hygienic handling, chilling, freezing of fish, value addition, Agricultural and animal farm inputs from fishery waste, preparation of fish silage and fish feed. Technical sessions were handled by Smt. Sreepriya, Dr. Zynudheen, Dr. Elavarasan and Dr. Remya.
Dr. Leela Edwin, Director CIFT handed over certificate to the participants in joint valedictory programme of two SCSP training programmes. The director emphasized the importance of promoting the technological innovations for the livelihood improvement of stake holders in reservoir based fisheries sector. Dr. Sajesh V. K, Course coordinator, presented the training report. During the feedback session, participants expressed their satisfaction about the training programme and requested further technical assistance for their activities. Dr. J.
