A 10-days short course on ‘Recent advances in post-harvest fisheries engineering’was inaugurated at ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (ICAR-CIFT) on Wednesday (13.11.2019). The training program was sponsored by Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi. 15 faculty/scientists from various ICAR institutes and SAUs are attending the Short Course. The partcicipants of the training progamme were from West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Dr. Anitha Karun, Director, ICAR-CPCRI, Kasaragod formally inaugurated the Short Course by lighting the lamp. In her address, she has highlighted the importance of development of small scale fish processing equipment and machineries catring to the needs of small scale industries and fisherfolk. Dr. C.N. Ravishankar, Director, ICAR-CIFT, Kochi delivered the presential address and pointed out the imporatnce of collabrative research with other institutions to develop commercializable products and technologies Dr. Manoj P Samuel, Course Director welcomed the gathereing and provided an overview about the training program.Dr. D.S.Aniesrani Delfiya, Course Coordinator proposed vote of thanks. All HOD, Senior adminsitrative officers and staff of ICAR-CIFT were present in the function.
