ICAR-CIFT, Cochin observed the Constitution Day on 26th November 2021 from 11: 00AM onwards. All the Scientists and staff of the institute read the Preamble of Constitution along with the Hon’ble President of India by attending live programme telecasted from central hall of parliament, New Delhi.

In the afternoon, a special online talk on “Constitution of India in the present-day context” was organized between 3.00PM and 4.00PM. Welcoming the audience Dr. T.V. Sankar, Principal Scientist and In-charge PME Cell, ICAR-CIFT highlighted the importance of Indian constitution and the significance of celebration of Constitution Day. The Guest speaker former Justice B. Kemal Pasha of High Court of Kerala, delivered a thought-provoking lecture about present day life of people in India in the context of Constitution of India. He made an analysis of strength of our constitution and how far the principles have been made in to practices as far as common man’s life is concerned. He called for action in bridging the gap implementation and to have common brotherhood approach for harmony among people of India. The event was attended by more than 60 staff members from CIFT HQ and its three research centres at Vizag, Mumbai and Veraval. The programme ended with the vote of thanks by Dr. Rejula, K, Scientist, Extension Information & Statistics division who coordinated the events.
