ICAR - CIFT signs MoU with M/s Vinayaka Foods

ICAR - CIFT, Kochi signs MoU with M/s Vinayaka Foods and Beverages for technology transfer of RTE products

 

 

ICAR-CIFT, Kochi signed a Memorandum of Understanding with M/s Vinayaka Foods and Beverages, the multiservice organization functioning at Kochi. The MoU was signed for the technology transfer of ready to eat (RTE) products. The Fish Processing Division of ICAR-CIFT will provide technology for the optimization of process conditions for the production of 12 ready to eat products which include palada, payasam and different vegetable curries. The consultancy includes optimization of process time and temperature for desired Fo values and sterility tests for the optimized products. ICAR-CIFT will also provide training and support to M/s Vinayaka Foods for the establishment of a processing unit exclusively for the production of RTE products.

 

The MoU was signed on 6th July, 2015 at ICAR-CIFT and the signatories were Dr. C.N. Ravishankar, Director, ICAR-CIFT and Shri M. Anantharaman, Managing Partner, M/s Vinayaka Foods & Beverages. The MoU was signed in presence of the members of Institute Technology Management Unit, Heads of Divisions and Senior Officers from the Administration wing. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ravishankar said that this consultancy agreement signifies the broad scope of the Institute technologies, particularly thermal processing and wished the endeavor all success.  Shri Anantharaman thanked the Institute for the wholehearted cooperation rendered by the scientists and technical staff for the success of his new venture.
