ICAR–CIFT Celebrates 75th Constitution Day with Patriotic Fervour and Institutional Unity

ICAR-CIFT, Cochin observed the 75th Constitution Day by organizing an offline pledge ceremony for the reading of the Preamble at the headquarters in Cochin and its centres at Visakhapatnam, Mumbai, and Veraval on 26 November 2025 at 11:00 a.m. At the headquarters, the Preamble reading was administered by Dr. Remesan, Director (i/c), ICAR-CIFT, Cochin. At the Centres in Visakhapatnam, Veraval, and Mumbai, the Preamble reading was administered by the respective Scientist-in-Charge (SIC).

The online reading of the Preamble to the Constitution was actively followed by the majority of the staff members. The CIFT staff also participated enthusiastically in the online quiz organized through mygov.in. Videos of the Preamble recitation were uploaded, and the certificates for both the recitation and the quiz were promptly downloaded by the participants. The dissemination of these certificates was effectively carried out through various social media platforms.

The banner commemorating the 75th Constitution Day was prominently displayed at the institute’s entrance lobby at the headquarters as well as at all three centres. To mark the culmination of the celebrations, a signature campaign was organised, allowing staff and visitors to express their support for constitutional values. In addition, a dedicated selfie point was arranged, providing an engaging and interactive space for participants to capture moments from the event.

In addition to that a talk on ‘The heart of India’s Democracy: Salient Features of the Constitution’ was organized. The programme started with recital of Vande Mataram song. Welcoming the audience by Dr. Pe. Jeyya Jeyanthi, Principal Scientist & Nodal Officer of the 75^th Constitution Day Celebration at ICAR-CIFT. The programme was presided by Dr. Remesan (i/c), Head of the Division, Fishing Technology Division, ICAR-CIFT who presented the introductory remarks about the observance of constitution day.

Talk by Dr. Binu Mole. K, Director, School of Legal Studies, CUSAT

Dr. Binu Mole, Director, School of Legal Studies, Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kochi was delivered an informative and illuminating talk on the above topic which was highly meaningful to the staff members. The talk was attended by more than 100 staff members from CIFT HQ and its three research centres at Vizag, Mumbai and Veraval.  The talk was attended by staff of centres through online.
