Hindi Workshop at Veraval

 

One day Hindi workshop on ‘Official Language Policy &Use of Unicode in Hindi
at VRC of ICAR – CIFT

 

 

As part of implementation and promotion of Official Language in Veraval Research Centre of ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Technology a one day workshop on ‘Official Language Policy &Use of Unicode in Hindi’ was conducted on 20.07.2019 by Shri Mukesh Solanki, Junior Translation Officer, Office of the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Tamil Nadu. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Toms C Joseph, Principal Scientist & Scientist-In-Charge, VRC of CIFT and gave a note on importance of Hindi in e-Governance and the need for improvement in Hindi implementation for e-Governance. Smt. Nimmy S. Kumar, Technical Assistant (Hindi Translator) welcomed the chair and the audience.

 

The workshop was very interactive and there were 19 participants in the workshop. Shri. Mukesh Solanki, Junior Translation Officercommenced the session with the history of origin of Unicode and how it helped common people to access the web world and do the correspondence in their own language. He gave a note on Hindi Unicode in which he explained the way of using the same in Hindi implementation. He also discussed about various mediums of learning Hindi through Internet. He also encouraged the use of LILA (Learning Indian Language for Artificial Intelligence) for the people who belongs to Non-Hindi speaking area through which they can independently learn Hindi. Later, he focused on the Official Language policy in which he stressed the use of bilingual correspondence in governmental works. He also guided the participants with various guidelines to attain the target percentage the official language correspondence.


The workshop concluded with an inspirational decision by the staff to give their best for the progressive official language implementation.
