Training course on Current Trends in Food Processing Technology under SCSP

A 5-day student training course on “Current Trends in Food Processing Technology” was inaugurated on 20th Nov 2023 at Engineering Section, ICAR-CIFT, Cochin under Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan. Thirty students (B.Tech/M.Tech) from eight different colleges, from Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Punjab are participating in this training programme. The training was proposed to create awareness among the graduates seeking careers in both food research and industry by updating their knowledge about the latest technologies and industry trends. In this program, a training compendium on “Current trends in food processing technology” and three brochures on “Green, Clean and affordable dryers for fish processing and value addition”, “CIFT's Engineering technologies - A glance”, “Hot-air assisted continuous infrared dryer” in three languages (Hindi, English and Malayalam) were released by the Director, ICAR-CIFT. The inaugural function was presided over by Dr George Ninan, Director, ICAR-CIFT. Dr Murali S, Scientist and In-charge, Engineering section delivered the welcome address and Dr Aniesrani Delfiya D. S. Course Director and Scientist, Engineering Section briefed about the program and Dr Neethu K.C., Scientist, Engineering proposed a vote of thanks in the presence of staffs of CIFT.
