The ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (ICAR-CIFT), Cochin in collaboration with Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS) handed overa dryer to a fisherwomen group of Alleppey Diocesan Charitable and Social Welfare Society (ADC&SWS)atADS building, Andhakaranazhi, Cherthala, Kerala, on 23 October, 2017. In this programme Fr.Xavier Kudiamssery (Executive Director of A.D.S. Alappuzha) welcomed the gathering and explained about the activities of ADC& SWS for the under privileged coastal areas of the Alleppeyand Ernakulum. Fish dryer was distributed with a formal MoU signed by ICAR-CIFT, KUFOS and ADC&SWS in the presence of Dr. A.K. Mohanty (Principal Scientist and Head, EIS Division, ICAR-CIFT, Cochin), Dr. Manoj P Samuel (Principal Scientist and Head, Engineering Division, ICAR-CIFT, Cochin), Dr V.M Victor George (Registrar, KUFOS), Dr. Daisy C Kapen (Associate Professor, Director of Extension(in charge)) and Fr.Joseph Dixy Faber (Assistant Director, A.D.S. Alappuzha).This programme was followed by a one day training programme on pre-processing of prawns for drying and demonstration of operation of dryer which was provided by Ms.Rehana Raj (Scientist, ICAR-CIFT) and Dr. D.S. AniesraniDelfiya(Scientist, ICAR-CIFT).
