ICAR-CIFT, Cochin observed the Constitution Day by organizing preamble reading on digital platform on 26 November, 2020 at 11.00am at head quarters in Cochin. At headquarters, the preamble reading was administered by Dr. K. Ashok Kumar, Director (i/c), ICAR-CIFT, Cochin. At research centres in Vizag, Veraval and Mumbai, the preamble reading was administered by the respective Scientist-In-Charge (SIC) by following the SOPs for COVID-19.

In the afternoon, a special online talk on ‘Constitutional values and fundamental principles of the Indian Constitution’ was organized between 3.00PM and 4.00PM. Welcoming the audience Dr. A.K. Mohanty, Head, EIS Division, ICAR-CIFT highlighted the importance of Indian constitution and the significance of celebration of Constitution day. Chairing over the programme, Dr. M. M. Prasad, Head, MFB Division, ICAR-CIFT presented the introductory remarks about the observance of constitution day.
Later, Adv. Sivan Madathil, practicing lawyer at High Court, Cochin delivered an informative and illuminating talk on the above topic which was highly meaningful to the staff members. The event was organized through Google Meet platform, which was attended by more than 80 staff members from CIFT HQ and its three research centres at Vizag, Mumbai and Veraval. The event was coordinated by Dr. Pe. Jeyya Jeyanthi, Scientist and Nodal Officer, Constitution Day Celebration, ICAR-CIFT, Cochin.
