An automated smoking kiln cum dryer with a 20 kg capacity was developed to improve the fish smoking process. The integrated system combines smoking and drying operations in a single unit, allowing it to function as either a smoking kiln or a dryer. The system consists of a biomass furnace with auxiliary electric heating, insulated SS304 chambers, automated airflow and smoke control, cyclone and PAH filtration systems, and a microprocessor-based monitoring unit with GSM-GPRS remote monitoring to enhance processing efficiency, product quality, and food safety.
